Finite Element Modeling for Impact Strength Estimation based on Charpy Method Finite Element Modeling for Impact Strength Estimation based on Charpy Method

The aim of the research is the development of the numerical procedure for predicting of the steel impact strength on the basis of its elasto-plastic and strength properties. Finite element (LS-DYNA) simulation of the steel failure during impact strength determination process is used for this purpose.

Keywords: Impact strength, Charpy method, pendulum hammer, impact/contact, large elasto-plastic deformations, progressive damage
