Finite Element Modelling and Analysis of Spall Crack Formation Finite Element Modelling and Analysis of Spall Crack Formation

In current project spall crack formation process was investigated with FE system LS-DYNA. Impact of thin plate-impactor to target from titanium alloys was performed. The presented FE modeling shows the process of experimental determining of material resistance for scabbing failure. FE results were verified with experimental data. The work results allowed predicting spall crack formation, investigation of scabbing processes.
