Visit of Schlumberger representatives to CompMechLab

On January 15th representatives of Tyumen Production Center of Schlumberger, the leading oilfield services provider, trusted to deliver superior results and improved E&P performance for oil and gas companies around the world, have visited CompMechLab. During this meeting CompMechLab engineers presented the results of the completed 8-month research project on vibrations of the high-speed electrical submersible pump for oil extraction.

Lead engineers of CompMechLab Alexander Nemov and Igor Voinov reported the main stages of the project "Complex computational research on vibrations of the new high-speed electrical submersible pump". This project is a continuation of the research work performed by CompMechLab for similar pump in 2007. In the frameworks of the new research the 3D parametric finite element model of the submersible pump has been developed, and multiple FE simulation analyses of the pump vibrations has been performed. One of the features of this project is taking into account the stiffness-damping characteristics of construction elements, which were obtained during CFD analyses.

Manager Jacques Orban and Research Engineer Kirill Turgenev (graduate of CompMechLab) of Tyumen Product Center participated in the meeting from the side of Schlumberger company.

After the successful presentation of the project results representatives of Schlumberger and CompMechLab discussed the ongoing projects. CompMechLab Deputy Head D. Mikhaluk made a report about all 2008 year projects performed by CompMechLab in collaboration with Schlumberger.
