Oil & Gas. CompMechLab Experience
CompMechLab research engineers have been providing services for leading oil and gas industry companies in the field of numerical modeling and computation for more than 7 years.
The laboratory has successful experience in fulfillment of the thermal and structural analyses of machines and constructions, ferrules, pressure vessels bottoms and covers, modeling of pipelines, chokes, compensators, plugs and other devices which operate at high temperature and pressure values.
CompMechLab offers services in the field of models development and fulfillment of computational experiments for oil and gas industry:
Analysis of strength and vibration of pipelines and risers:
- Consideration of supports f various types (sliding, spring, frontal);

- Consideration of pipeline route type (overground, underground, underwater);
- Consideration of all possible loading cases:
- internal pressure;
- thermal expansion;
- contacts with bearings;
- interaction with ground or environment;
- dead weight of a pipeline structure and of a transported medium;
- Life by load cycles determination;
- Modeling of welded joints including the ones with various defects.

Strength computation of vessels under pressure:
- Consideration of vessel support system, thermal loads and dead weight;
- Analysis of ribs and chokes;
- Determination of vessel fatigue life by load cycles.

Computation of thermal and deformed state of pipelines with surrounding ground:
- Ground melting and freezing detection;
- Consideration of various climatic factors;
- Phenomenon of a pipeline displacement by a season change of temperature detection.

Modeling of the rock and pipelines acoustic studies:
- Study of acoustic waves in rock distribution with the purpose of oil prospecting fulfillment;
- Acoustic methods of existence and defects and hydrates in pipelines determination development and computer modeling;
- Modeling of leakage in an underwater pipeline by means of acoustic methods;
- Modeling of functioning of hoop strain sensors for an underwater pipeline control.

Modeling of measuring devices and emitters based on piezoelectric resonators:
- Modeling of viscosity, density, pressure and temperature sensors;
- Modeling of ultrasonic emitters.

Modeling of oil extraction equipment strength and vibration:
