Altair Engineering acquires ACUSIM Software

Altair Engineering, Inc., a leading global provider of simulation technology and engineering services that empower client innovation and decision-making, today announced it has acquired ACUSIM Software, Inc. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., ACUSIM is a leading developer of massively scalable, high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solver solutions. ACUSIM's CFD technology and staff will be incorporated into Altair's HyperWorks computer-aided engineering (CAE) software portfolio and operations. This acquisition solidly positions Altair as a major player in the CFD market and at the forefront of multi-physics simulation.

MSC.Software News (Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) Simulations, Comprehensive Durability Analysis, SimXpert 2010 & Advanced MultiDiscipline (MD) Solver Technologies )

MSC.Software, the leader in multidiscipline simulation solutions that accelerate product innovation and ACUSIM Software, Inc. a leading provider of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solutions and developer of AcuSolve™, August 19  announced the direct coupling of AcuSolve with MD Nastran for world leading Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) simulations.

MSC.Software announced its reinstated partnership with HBM nCode, the premier supplier of durability, test and analysis products. HBM nCode solvers have powered MSC Fatigue, an FE-based durability and damage tolerance solver from MSC.Software that enables users with minimal knowledge of fatigue to perform comprehensive durability analysis.

MSC.Software announced that SimXpert 2010 is released and ready for download. With this release, engineers can access all the new features of MD Nastran 2010 and MD Adams 2010 and perform advanced simulations in the areas of nonlinear analysis, bi-directional thermo-mechanical coupling and expanded physics simulations including co-simulation with CFD codes.
