Siemens PLM Software announces latest release of Femap for enhanced simulation in product development

Siemens PLM Software, announced the latest release of Femap software,the pre- and post-processor for engineering finite element analysis (FEA) running on the Windows operating system. Enhancements in Femap 10.3 make it easier and significantly faster for end users to work with complex geometry models, and a new user interface feature further extends support for advanced functionality in NX NASTRAN software, the company’s comprehensive FEA application.

CompMechLab employees participated in Mikkeli (Finland) 6th CompMechWorkshop'2011 Symposium

6th Mikkeli Computational Mechanics Workshop (CompMechWorkshop'2010) organized by Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences Research Centre YTI and the Computational Mechanics Laboratory (CompMechLab®, with Prof. Alexey Borovkov as its Head) of St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University was held from August 8th till 12th, 2011. This Workshop is notable by its unique form. University specialists, experts from research and industrial companies and CompMechLab® employees are able to productively communicate at the Symposium, which motto is "ÑAD / FEA / CAE in Action!". 12 CompMechLab® employees and 8 accompanying people assisted the organization and work of the Symposium.

NX NASTRAN Solves World's Largest Structural Analysis Problem

Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division and a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, today announced a computational breakthrough in implicit finite element analysis (FEA) technology. Using commercially available hardware, the current production version of the company’s NX NASTRAN software was able to solve a structural analysis problem with a half-billion equations “virtually overnight.”
