Adobe Delivers Updated CAD Translators for Acrobat 3D Software

Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) has announced the immediate availability of a free download for Adobe Acrobat 3D software that delivers updated 3D computer-aided design (CAD) translators. PTC Revamps Product Packages. New high end package includes Mathcad, Arbortext

PTC announced new bundling packages that are due to take effect April 1, 2007. The base package (which used to be Pro/ENGINEER Foundation Advantage) will now be known as Pro/ENGINEER Foundation XE (for Extended Edition) and be available for $4,995.

FORD Uses BUNKSPEED for Concept Car Images

BUNKSPEED, a leading provider of high-end visualization software and services, today announced that Ford Motor Company used BUNKSPEED’s patent-pending software solutions to create advanced media images for the Ford Interceptor concept.

In a special collaboration between BUNKSPEED, Ford and international photographer David Burgess, the team created a collection of digital images of Ford’s modern American muscle car, so media could start reporting on the concept even before it was fully built.

Autodesk and PTC Agree on Direct Interoperability Deal

After weeks of negotiations, Autodesk and leading MCAD vendor PTC will next week announce a direct interoperability agreement. Autodesk agrees to incorporate the GRANITE Interoperability Kernel from PTC into AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, while PTC will incorporate RealDWG technology from Autodesk into Pro/Engineering Wildfire. Other API's and toolkits will also be involved in the technology exchange.
